From its modest beginning in the first decade of the 20th century to its robust growth and impact in the 21st, the American School of Guadalajara has reflected the growth of the city from a modest town in 1908 to a world class metropolis today. Its early mission was simply to provide a US style education to the children of American workers in the city. But, as time progressed, it evolved into a unified pre-K through high school institution which served students from Mexico, the US, and a dozen other countries around the world.
Enjoy the brief history which follows showing the parallel growth of Guadalajara and the American School. You will see how the school’s service program brought the community together, how its leadership in environmental sustainability contributed to a green future, and how its advanced educational curricula and highly educated staff garnered admission to prestigious universities around the world for our graduates while providing a loving and wholesome environment for our youngest students.
