Middle School Program

MSprogram

Our students take courses required by both our U.S. accreditation agency, Cognia, and by the Mexican Secretaría de Educación Pública (SEP).  Courses that receive credit in both programs include English, Spanish, Math, Science, PE, Music, Art, and Technology.  Students also take a U.S. Social Studies course and a Mexican Social Studies course that receive credit in their respective programs.  Students receive a SEP Primaria Certificate at the end of grade 6 and an ASFG Middle School Certificate of Promotion at the end of grade 8.

The middle school academic program is rigorous, preparing students for success in high school and beyond while at the same time responsive to our students’ social and emotional needs. On a weekly basis, students take a human development course to support them in making decisions to promote their physical, emotional, and academic well-being. Our students also have an advisory class each Friday led by middle school teachers and other staff members who engage our students in activities and discussions to promote social and emotional development, goal setting, bullying prevention, and digital citizenship.
