During Dr. Argenziano's tenure as director, The American School Foundation of Guadalajara made significant strides. For the first time, the school participated in international hiring fairs to bring in top talent. Academic programs flourished with the introduction of Advanced Placement courses for high school students and the initiation of a US Master’s degree of education program for the staff.

The campus underwent substantial development in the 1980s, witnessing the construction of essential facilities such as the cafeteria, gymnasium, swimming pool, a new library, and the inaugural computer center. Furthermore, the basketball team was given the nickname 'Warriors' in 1988, a name chosen by the students through a vote, adding to the school's sense of community and identity.
